Hi all,

It is currently not possible to integrate the shipping version of Rose (Rose 2001) with the beta versions of any product (including VS.NET). For obvious reasons we prefer to target the release versions of third party products and you can be sure that _a_ Rose version will integrate with the VS.NET release once it is released.

As someone correctly pointed out, Rational works closely with Microsoft to produce MS Visual Modeller, a beta of which is included in the VS.NET beta.

While I cannot discuss whether there is a version of Rose in development that will do this, if you have a real need, you should contact your local Rational rep. as there may be a beta program you can join in the future :-).

As far as I know, it is currently not possible to import Visio diagrams into VS.NET. The way to do this is to export the diagrams/models in XMI format from Visio and then import them into .NET, but I think the XMI import is not included in this beta.

Regards,

Dave.

Subject: RE: (ROSE) Visual Studio .NET

Hello everybody

I have a question that forum members have already asked (see mailing list in December), but I still have any answer and I can't find enough information on the Rational or Microsoft website. Does anybody know how to integrate/use Rational Rose 2001 (enreprise) to a project in Visual Studio.NET (beta1)?
And is it possible to import UML diagrams made with Visio 2001 in Visual Studio.NET?

Thanks!
