I was referring to the help in Rose 2001. Yes several of the items
I mentioned are not there in 2000e. 2000e was the first release of
the Data Modeler, and if you are working with the data modeler it
is strongly recommended you upgrade to 2001. Quite a few bug fixes
and ehancements, not to mention additional help files, have been
included in 2001.

You can go either way, depends upon whether you are starting off modeling
classes or starting with a Data Model. Usually I would thing you would
start on the Data Model.

Unfortunetly at the moment the two (o8 addin, DM) don't mix.
o8 addin features are slated to be rolled into the DM addin, but I have
no timeframe when this might happen.

perhaps say once again that we are piloting this project and as with everything
new there are no guidelines or best practices established. That is one of the
reasons I have tuned to this forum. I do appreciate your patience.

bottom of the page refers to Transforming Object Model Elements such as an
attribute maps to a column, an association maps to a relationship etc and does
not talk to any database mappings. There is however one sentence elsewhere
Datatypes are transformed to appropriate target DBMS datatypes.
