Many thanks. My understanding now includes the following:

1) There is one 'model' for the project - containing may artifacts,
including a class (application) model, in which some classes are marked as
persistent (i.e. entity classes).

2) The model is extended at the appropriate time to include one or more
'data' models. Each data model represents a mapping to a physical
implementation (e.g. an Oracle DBMS), in which persistent classes have been
'mapped' 1:1 in most cases (with the help of Rose), to tables, and
attributes have been mapped to appropriate columns. The concept of Primary
and Foreign Keys (and things like Indexes) are aspects of data model
artifacts, for DBMS technologies that offer such constructs.
