That's not quite my problem. I agree that two different graphical
representations map to the same object in both of the mentioned cases.
What I got is: I had several objects of different classes with the same name
in one sequence diagram, and that worked fine quite a time. At some time
later the objects were merged from Rose to one and the same object in the
diagram (the same effect as copying them with Ctrl-C), so all the different
objects had the same name and the same class.
After deleting all the graphical representations with Ctrl-D, it was not
possible any more to create new objects of the used classes with the name
used before. Rose gave an error message like "object with this name already
exists". But where? And how can I get my hands on them? Is there an explorer
view of all the objects that are used in a sequence diagram? If yes, then it
would be possible at least to remove sequence diagram objects from the
model.
I hope I could make clear the problem. It is indeed difficult to describe,
because we "solved" it by deleting the complete diagram and creating a new
from scratch. At the moment the problem does not exist, so I must describe
the error from memory, so sorry for any inaccurate explanations.
Greetings,
Olaf
