If we look at the definitions in RUP, we get:
Business Use Case
A business use case (class) defines a set of business use-case instances,
where each instance is a sequence of actions a business performs that yields
an observable result of value to a particular business actor.
Use Case (System)
A use case defines a set of use-case instances, where each instance is a
sequence of actions a system performs that yields an observable result of
value to a particular actor.
The difference between the two is the granularity of the boundary between
the actor (business or system) and the use case (business or system).
A Business Use Case focuses on WHAT the Business provides that is of value
to the Actor. A Use Case (System) focuses on WHAT the SYSTEM provides of
value to the actor.
A Business Use case documents the interaction between the Actor and Business
while a Business Use Case Realisation documents HOW this is accomplished
with collaborations between Workers and Entities.
On the other hand, a System Use Case Realisation documents HOW the system
accomplishes the use case defined by class (software) collaborations.
Typically, a system Use Cases is used to realise a Business Use Case (see
RUP Disciplines>Business Modelling > Guidelines > Going from Business Models
to Systems ) (example of a NOT maybe a use case for a game)

I appreciate if someone can tell me the difference between a use case that
captures a business process and a regular system use case. From what I
understand, when you install RUP, additional icons are added so you can use
annotate a business process use case. We don't have RUP installed yet. Is
there any way to show difference between these use cases in Rose 2000
without RUP?
