This
is a common issue for new users. The user interface model here
is counter-intuitive, but there is some sort of sense to it.
Use
"Edit | Delete from Model (Ctrl+D)" to delete objects and
messages.
The
idea is that when you delete a class from a class diagram, you are just removing
it from the diagram but it remains in the model. If you put all sorts of
description text and other data on the class, you still have that. On
the other hand, if you remove an object from a diagram, that object is removed
from the model completely -- the description and all other aspects of it are
gone. Note that the class that the object was an instance of remains; this
is just the object we are talking about here.
