Rose shows the parameters (name and type), but not the and the return type.
And unfortunately it is one setting applied model-wide. You can't have some
diagrams that are detailed and others that just show the operation name.

What version of Rose are you using. In the later Rose releases (Rose 2001,
2001A) you can do a Tools->Options, look under
the Diagram tab and select the 'Name and Type' option in the 'Message
Signatures' radio button group. This will cuase the
message signatures to be displayed on sequence diagrams.
