Rational ClearCase takes care of the version control system which is not a
part of the Rational Suite. But a lighter version of it called "ClearCaseLT"
is a part of Rational Suite version 2001 onwards.
Clearcase supports not only version control, but also full configuration
management. So you can not compare it with VSS.
Hope it helps.
