Hi,

We have purchased RUP as bundled with Development Studio but use it as a
reference library for specific techniques etc.
Our development process is ICONIX with minor additions.

The key difference is that ICONIX, in effect, is a practical and easy to
follow subset of RUP. Unlike RUP, it does not consider project management,
configuration management etc. It simply focuses on getting from
requirements to code safely with a high degree of traceability. The only
technique not covered in RUP is Robustness Analysis.

I personally feel that RUP would be more suitable for large projects and
ICONIX for small to medium.

A brilliant short book on the ICONIX process, packed with good, practical
advice is Use Case Driven Object Modelling with UML - A Practical Approach
by Doug Rosenberg ISBN 0201432897

Subject: (ROSE) Iconix Process

Hi,
does anyone can explain me how is possible to map the RUP framework to
follow the ICONIX process.
The iconix process divided the proble domain in 2 main model:
1) Dynamic Model
2) Static Model

How i can map the 2 models (and then the included diagrams suggested by
ICONIX) in the RUP Framework of rose?

Or better there's someone that can give me suggestion about the
comparision for the 2 processes.

Regards
