Ok, the good news is that the Rose/SoDA integration of customised fields now appears to be working.
The solution was to move the Rose model 'Open' command to the first line of my SoDA script. I had some file commands prior to opening the model. When you open your SoDA template in Word, make sure that there are no copies of Rose executing. When you open the document template view, SoDA should execute, followed by Rose. If Rose doesn't execute then it appears that your customised fields will not get loaded into SoDA.
