The technique I started using several years ago to deal with this
problem was to have key sequence diagrams for individual
operations in the logical view, then to have the sequence diagram
in the Use Case call these operations, as required to fulfil the
Use Case needs, but show no further detail.  I then attached a
note to the operation call, indicating where the further detail
could be found.

I believe you can now have active links in the 'notes' that would
allow you to click and traverse to the detailed diagram - I haven't
needed to try this recently, so don't take my word for that.

My technique is based on a philosophy of how the invariants of
a domain should be distinguished from the use requirements of
particular systems in a domain, and thus may not be optimum
for other philosophies.  OTOH, I think it's a good way to do things
for almost any philosophy.  Make up your own mind on this.
