Has anyone used the ViewsUseUniqueIds=Yes feature in Rose for easier merging of files?
There is a brief mention in the help file. It does not mention why this feature should be used except to that the Integrator can 'better track changes in model diagrams'. I have not tried to test this because I don't know what situations would benefit from this feature. There are some warnings about its use but it does not have any details. The project, I am currently working on, has some business analysts working on the use case model. There are occasional problems when merging the cat files while checking in the files into CC. I am trying to make the merges easier for them since they do not understand the internal Rose structure necessary to do the merge. I could not find additional information in documentation or Rational's web site. Any comments about your use of this feature would be appreciated.
