Oh, focus of control!  I have had similar problems with focus of control
bars in Rose from the first time I clapped eyes on them.

The tool definitely knows something about design that I don't know.

There are two alternatives:

1) turn off focus of control display
2) use white-out and felt-tip pens on the computer screen
