Not really a PC question but - we have used and evaluated most of the competition. For certain products no real difference in functionality etc exists, but you try and integrate!!. What you get get from Rational is a set of products that integrate together under the framework of RUP. The point most tool users / buyers miss is - the time it takes to fix a major fault in a product. We tracked hundreds of faults and Rational we far above the fastest to id the fault and then to fix it. Two of our problems were project stoppers and both were fixed in a timely manner, very few other suppliers have the ability to do this. In my previous position as Tool and Methods Manager, we kept statistics on all faults, Rational were at the top of our list, it would be inappropriate for me to name the other vendors and how poorly they performed.
