By default, an association between two classes in Rose is non-identifying.
If you want to create the equivalent of an identifying relationship where
the identification of class Identifier is part of the identification of
class Contained:

Draw an aggregate association starting in class Identifier and ending in
class Contained. This will give an unfilled diamond as an adornment where
the association connects to class Identifier.

Open the specification for the association.

Select the Role B Detail tab.

On the containment of Identifier group, select "By Value".

When you apply the change, the diamond will turn black.

This means that the existence of class Contained is bounded by the
existence of class Identifier.

If you have the Data Modeler add-in, you will note that when you create an
identifying relationship between two tables (by selecting the stereotype of
"Identifying" for the association), a black diamond will be added to the
attachment point at the table from which the identifying key is being
inherited.
