I started hacking on a way to move multiple segments.
There is a usability issue with the moving guide that I cannot resolve on my
own and require input. Here are screenshots with an explanation of what they
represent (these were not doctored up, they are actual functionality in RG):
1. simple, all segments in the move rectangle are selected:

2. little more complex, still all segments within move rectangle are selected:

3. here some segments within the move rectangle are not selected, and their Z
value is raised to illustrate this:

So, this is the jist of what I am working on. I can send a patch to the list
if you would like to see the code.
