Go for it. I've been undecided on whether we should pursue this for 1.0 due mainly to lack of action on it - however it's important enough to go after plus there's quite a lot of audio/timing stuff I've been putting off based on its inclusion (because there's a lot of bug fixing I could do right now which would be a right-off if we changed models). So, it's important we push in one direction - Chris and I are meeting tonight and we're going to go through the 1.0 task list to make sure we've got everything. If we go the mmap route (and I think we all feel we should now) then we should do it soon - get the rest of the infrastructure in place and get moving. Two weeks until the end of July and "feature complete" remember.
