They won't, of course, since turning a repeating segment into copies creates
new segments, rather than enlarging the existing one. Well, that's
reassuring. Somewhat.

We've switched to a new scheme of communication between the GUI and the
sequencer, for the events at least (DCOP remains for other stuff). Basically,
the GUI writes into files which the sequencer reads. This is done using
memory-mapped (seed mmap(2)) files.
