OK, thanks to both for the explanation.  I have a much better idea what you're 
talking about now.  :)

I'm not qualified to have an opinion of the underlying technology, but off 
hand this sounds pretty cool to me.  Should take care of a lot of boggy GUI 
screwing up playback problems, which I suppose was the whole point of the 
endeavor.
