No clue either, about any of it, but FWIW, I always get tons of stupid X 
errors from myriad different applications, and none of them have ever seemed 
to represent anything significant.

I'm just saying that from userland I wouldn't consider stupid X errors a bug 
unless they actually prevented the application from functioning.

I'm not getting the ones you speak of.  I do finally see the useless floating 
panner window.  I evidently did an update but never compiled the code.
