OK, no metronome. While I thought it was doing more last night (ie moving, just not recording) what happens now is that as soon as I hit record (from a fresh start, empty composition) the transport jumps to -00:00:04 and sticks there until I hit stop. I can repeat the -00:00:04 thing consistently.
