Hey, maybe not so fast there.  Half assed testing on my part.  I glanced at it 
and saw what I expected to see, but I didn't really play with it until just 
now.

The transport in the 9-18 version *is* moving.  It's not showing anything on 
the segment canvas because it starts two measures before 0.  Once it catches 
up, it records just fine.

The bug I just pointed out where hitting record while the transport is in play 
mode causes the playback pointer to jump back two bars is still evident, as I 
just reported.  However, today's version does not record after jumping back.  
The 9-18 version *does* record.

Composition playing.  I hit record.  Transport jumps back two bars and 
playback continues from two bars back.  I get to bar 5 and start playing.  I 
get a segment recorded at bar 5.  So it's recording.  The only big problem 
with the 9-18 version recording is the weird two bars back thing.  (There 
seem to be timing problems too.  Stuff getting muddled, but that's another 
matter.)
