No, I disagree.   It's got to be an end-user experience as much as 
anything else as we get closer to 1.0 - how else do we expect people
to test it?

Usually I would agree with you - I'm usually the last person to advocate
optimisation (especially too early) but I don't think this is too early.
Especially as I've been demoing the thing for a year now and have seen
on the whole nothing but improvement in both speed and reliability.

Remember G, I do actually _use_ this piece of software.
