I will. It will be fairly soon, but not really soon. Best case is probably
two weeks. Maybe a bit longer on some of it, but within two weeks a
significant portion of it will be pretty well stable.

It's in a bit of limbo at the moment. It has been FDL for a long time, but
I'm playing with switching to the same "Open Documentation License" that
grokking the GIMP uses. I should probaby consult a lawyer or something, but
haven't yet. If nothing else, the ODL is winning because A) I can actually
understand exactly what it says, and B) it seems to be exactly the set of
conditions I'm looking for.

I can't make heads or tails of the FDL. Basically, I want to ensure that A)
if people modify this in any non-trivial way, they make it patently obvious
who wrote what, and B) I damn well don't want someone publishing this as a
paper book without paying me for writing it.

As far as translations, which I suppose is why you're asking, that's an
interesting question. I never even considered the legal ramifications of
translation. I'd be interested in discussing the issue with you if there's
an issue to discuss, legal-wise. Who owns what and all that.

License or no, you and the German guy have the distinct advantage that you can
say whatever the hell you want, and I'll never know the difference. Other
translators might not be so lucky. :)
