I actually backed down at the last minute and just changed the default 
Expression to 100 (although Sustain and Expression are still absent 
from the default set of values for new devices).  That's just because I 
thought it seemed a bit mean to set Expression to some particular 
default (i.e. 100) and then not show the user what value you'd set it 
to.  So I'm going for the lower risk approach.

Committed now.  There may still be breakages, so reports please.
