The big fundamental question for anything related to Unicode in Qt4 is 
whether they are extending QChar to be able to refer to Unicode code 
points beyond 0xffff.  At the moment QChar is 16 bits and does not 
support surrogate pairs, so anything beyond (such as the Unicode 3.1 
musical notation symbols section) is inaccessible.  That's one reason 
we do our own font rendering.
