Yes.
Nominal! Nominal - 1,2,4,8,16... I guess my idea is better :)
Example: 6/8 should have eight tiny lines in ruler
You probably meant to say six,
Yup, sorry.
but no, it has two, because 6/8 consists of two groups of notes. There are two beats to a bar in 6/8. Each beat has three quavers.
Generaly you're right, but you can not be so sure composer wants that to be 4+2/8 or 2+1+3/8. That's why I vote for new time signature concept for post 1.0. Definitely, 6/8 is basicly group of 2 beats (classical composer said), but that's restriction.
A better ruler would have two large ticks, and three smaller ticks within each space. Rosegarden's just has the two larger ticks.
Yes, I was just about to say that, but you ware faster. That's how we could mark complex time signatures. Display all tick lines and make main (requested) devision stronger (bold). That also means beaming would be as requested time signature says. :)
and 5/4 - five
Yes.
Finaly :)
12/8 - twelve
No, four.
Scoolar example, but still restriction for composer.
One day, I hope we will have more contemporary time signature marks available, as 2+2+3/8 (7/8)
Ah, but that could also be 4+3 or 3+4 or 3+3+1.
Yes.
I can't actually remember how Rosegarden divides 7/8 at the moment. Probably 7 equal ticks just because it can't make up its mind, but it could be any of the other ways for all I know.
Seven equal ticks.
Doesn't really metters! Do you agree with mine proposal? Or anyone's else?! Don't want to insult noone.
