I have a 1.0 ready. Are there any differences with regard to the seg canvas 
between 1.0 and STG that are worth the checkout & recompile ?

I've taken a look at the QCanvas code, I haven't figured out yet how it does 
this... perhaps simply checking if we're scrolling and skipping some of the 
draw operations in that case might help.
