My most recent build is a week out of date, and I'm honestly not in a good
position to comment about audio recording at the moment. I still haven't
taken the time to sit down and work out how to record with this new
soundcard. I get empty previews, but also empty .wav files.
Taking a quick whack with the build I have...
Yeah, MIDI recording is pretty fucked.
Out of the box, hit record on track 1, whack on the keyboard, see notes flying
by on the transport. Nothing in the GUI at all. Stop. No segment. Repeat.
No segment.
Set recording on track 2. Repeat. I get a cropped label and about 50 pixels
of a preview rectangle, then for the first couple of pages I see preview
notes being drawn in empty space, and for the next pages ("page" meaning when
scrolling gets to the right margin and jumps to the left margin) nothing at
all. Hit stop. No segment.
I don't have my speakers turned on and I'm not in a position to hear anything
without more effort than I have time for at this particular moment. I'm
guessing the data is really there, and the GUI isn't displaying it.
I've just done an update, and am getting ready to build today's most recent
CVS. I'm going to go for a long walk in the woods with my son while that
goes on. I'll get back to you.
