Eh? Who? I've never heard of scons -u, what's it supposed to do? > It always does this checking bit every time too, which I'm sure I've > mentioned previously, but I reiterate. For me, all it says at the start of each build (if I don't reconfigure) is scons: Reading SConscript files ... Checking for int lirc_init() in C library lirc_client... yes scons: done reading SConscript files. scons: Building targets ... (Why on earth does lirc get different treatment from every other library?) However, it pauses for about six seconds after the lirc_init line, and for another four seconds or thereabouts after "Building targets ..." before it does anything further, e.g. deciding there's nothing to do. Ten seconds doing nothing at the start of every build is long enough to be really irritating, and this is a fast machine -- when I'm building on a slower machine it obviously takes even longer and becomes a bore as well as an irritation.
