The original reason I wanted to call it 1.2.3 is just 
that I've been staring at version 1.2 for so long 
already and I'm sick of it. 

That said, I think it's a nice enough number, and I 
reckon version numbers are basically arbitrary as 
long as they keep going up and don't jump about all 
over the place.  Plus I did describe exactly what I 
proposed a couple of weeks ago, and you didn't have 
anything to say about it then. 

We do have several new features anyway - drum 
editor, multitrack audio recording, external MIDI 
controllers support, proper externally-connectable 
MIDI ports, new sync implementations, the project 
packager, Lilypond preview etc.
