It is a template for new translators to start the translation process. They
get the .pot file from the repository, rename or copy it to lang.po, and
begin to translate it with the tool of their choice.

A more detailed explanation in this document:

In 'Nabucco' (a 32 bit machine), it complains about required libraries:

$ ./xgettext --help
./xgettext: /lib/tls/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.3' not found (required
by ./xgettext)
./xgettext: /lib/tls/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.1' not found (required
by ./xgettext)
./xgettext: /lib/tls/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.0' not found (required
by ./xgettext)

I suppose I could install the required glibc libs, but I don't bother because
I'm going to do an upgrade of this system in a few days.

My other machine, 'Rigoletto' is an amd64. In this one I have the required
compatibility libs already installed, and po/xgettext just runs fine.

Regards,
Pedro
