One has to wonder if the jack access methodology of the sequencer might be improved, then ponder if it wouldn't end up looking like a nightmare of abstraction and make the whole thin look as if it was designed by a committee of computer science lecturers with no programming experience. OTOH, there might be some kind of weird, contorted reason to have a separate pitch tracker interface to jack, so that it could be connected to a single instrumental track with nothing to do with the real business of the rose-gardening that was ongoing. The tutorial functionality previously discussed springs to mind. Not sufficiently sober to be more lucid about this right now. Leave well alone for the moment, say I. BTW, I did sit with Dougie and try to fathom the scons stuff by looking at the lirc example. Failed. Would be interested if some kind soul could tell us what we are doing wrong!
