EMJ: I prefer + and - for chromatic alterations of notes other than the root 
of a chord, so the accidentals this way are reserved for the latter. 
Regarding C6/9 I'd rather see it written C6add 9 just like you; / in a 
chordsymbol usually denotes specified bass note.
