Just thinking about how it would work, and not how it would get done in code,
I'd like to see better rendering of overlapping parts in the notation
view(*), and some way to pick which "layer" is the "active" one. Notes in
the currently active voice show up in black, notes in other voices in some
other color, or perhaps each voice with a different color. Something like
that. Sibelius and Finale both have some little widget with a [1][2][3] kind
of thing, I think. That wouldn't work for us necessarily, because there
could be [n] overlapping segments, and we wouldn't want to impose a
constraint where none existed before, but we could have some kind of
widgetry, and plumb it up to suitable shortcuts too.

(*) I'm not really sure just what I mean by "better rendering," because I
haven't played with this in a long time. I remember there being issues
trying to work with overlapping parts in the notation view, but not really
what they were.
