What I need is a tool to see clef, key and transposition at a glance when dealing with too much staves to fit in the window. Of course, they are already in notation (and transposition may be found in segment parameters) and but, when using notation linear mode, I can't usually find them without scrolling the current view. The screen copy shows what I am trying to get (don't look too much at the header aspect : it's unfinished). > Transposition could be incorporated also into LilyPond output, especially, > by adding second line which would show the instrument transposition to the > instrument name, see > > http://lilypond.org/doc/v2.10/Documentation/user/lilypond/Instrument-names# >Instrument-names LilyPond is a very good software which gives very good printed sheets. But RG goal is different : the user edits music on a (always too small) screen and needs to see on it as much data as possible. The track headers drawback is to reduce the window useful size, but it's always possible to hide them when they are not useful. Yves
