I'm currently looking for a MIDI editor/sequencer for Linux. As a KDE fan (and developer, when I have time), I'm interested in rosegarden, as it was originally a KDE3 program. I can't install my distro's package since it wants to pull in huge amounts of KDE (which I build my own, so this would lead to massive duplication and quite possibly breakage), so I've been trying to look into building it, and possibly helping with the porting effort.
However, a few things have been rather off-putting: - gmane posting is broken. - posts by non-subscribers appear to be moderated forever. - rosegarden is moving away from KDE? The lack of an active moderator (and apparent brokenness of sourceforge's list software) is discouraging; having to subscribe is a roadblock to participation. As for the direction, frankly I'm only interested in contributing to development if rosegarden intends to remain a KDE(4) program (although the list problems are already making me consider finding something else). Since I haven't seen an official statement on the direction of rosegarden here, I'll ask; is KDE being officially dropped? -- Matthew ENOWIT: .sig file for this machine not set up yet ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Moblin Your Move Developer's challenge Build the coolest Linux based applications with Moblin SDK & win great prizes Grand prize is a trip for two to an Open Source event anywhere in the world http://moblin-contest.org/redirect.php?banner_id=100&url=/ _______________________________________________ Rosegarden-devel mailing list [email protected] - use the link below to unsubscribe https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/rosegarden-devel
