That makes two of us, but I figure this won't be that hard to sort out once
some context is evident. Or maybe it will even turn out to be random noise.

No, I'm not sure, but I did think of this first, and I don't see a connection
between this problem and any particular library. Some of the stuff online
was resolved by adding kdecore to the link, but that's already in there.
As far as comparing qt4-makefile's link to CMake's link, or even adding new
stuff to the CMake build system, I've looked over this for half an hour, and
can't make heads or tails of any of it. I don't even see where or how the
linking gets done, let alone how to look at the actual command that must be
running behind the pretty colors. I know it's all in here somewhere, but the
right search terms have thus far eluded me.
