Agree completely. We need the glossy new buttons. It's still too soon to be
thinking about how to do this, but I'd really like to see us take charge of
our own UI so Rosegarden always looks like Rosegarden on KDE3, KDE4, GNOME,
XFCE, OS-X, Windows, etc.

Of course one huge problem with that would be the years of infighting before
we could ever settle on a scheme everybody liked. Let alone all the users.
But still, I love this idea anyway. There is a lot of really pretty stuff on
Windows and OS-X (eg. VST plugins), and most of our stuff is functional first
and pretty not at all, with Hydrogen being my favorite exception.

I have no big problem with Rosegarden THE FUTURE IS SOON becoming Rosegarden
THE FUTURE IS NOW, but I'm sure package maintainers will absolutely despise
this if we do it.

I mean just think about everyday conversations about people and their distros.
I'm on Ubuntu 8.04, and I don't even remember what stupid lame codename this
is. Horny Heron? Gobsmacked Grendel? Misanthropic Monkey? Who can keep
track of that nonsense? Numbers are good.
