Hey, looks like I already did -- see
gui/general/TempDirectory.{cpp,h}. Just ask its instance for the
directory path, and it will be created if necessary and returned to
you. Deleted on exit, cleaned up the next time it's used after a
crash.
The files are actually created in $HOME/.rosegarden.tmp as it stands,
rather than /tmp. We could debate that.
