Thanks Michael, I use this tool all day long for Java programs, but my experience with c++ in Netbeans is a single trivial program which I needed for one thing or another. (That one worked OK.)
What you say about my working copy is eminently reasonable. I happened to notice that as soon as I made any change, I started to get a red arrow. I'll continue to beat on it and see if something falls out. I definitely need Netbeans since at least the breakpoint now works. It seems very fragile in c++, but Java has no problems. I gather no one else is using NetBeans in Rosegarden. I know it is making heavy use of the makefile, since that is the only bit of information I need to give it to get it up and running. Perhaps there is something in the makefile which is making it so fragile. Maybe I've got the makefile configured incorrectly? Could I send you my makefile to see if something is wrong with it?
