Riddled with problems, but this is the idea.  Same kind of implementation I 
already had for the other wheel. I'll hammer on this and it should turn out to 
be a proper fix.  In my working code, the H wheel zooms up and down now in 
smaller steps, but there are all kinds of problems to sort out.

Thank you for mentioning that the zoom steps were too big, Jani.  That was 
just what I needed to understand something new about the problem, and see a 
solution.
