Mm, very strange.

Have you built from clean since making the change (in whatever working
copy that diff came from)?  Shouldn't make any difference, but you
never know.

The back trace is for the GUI thread, which is odd, since you'd (as
you said) expect the crash to be in the sequencer thread if it was
caused by a local, non-thread-related change in AlsaDriver.  Can you
get try "thread apply all bt" in gdb after the crash to get a
backtrace for all threads?
