Rather than to add a very specific driver to Rosegarden, why not to write a 
tiny application to move (and convert) MIDI coming from an ALSA port to your 
hardware ?

seqdemo.c (http://www.suse.de/~mana/alsa090_howto.html) may be a good start.

Currently, you can connect it to a Rosegarden track and see the note on/note 
off on the terminal when Rosegarden is playing.

To modify it to your needs should be quite simple.

amidi, part of alsa utils, is another (a little more complicate) similar 
application.
