Every time I think of the word "brittle" in connection with code, it immediately summons up all these fond memories of your active days around here. It's simply because of the many discussions we had where the term came up again and again in connection with this and that. The brittle code was never yours! It's a good bit of imagery, and I'm a writer. Like all writers, if I encounter a good turn of phrase, I commandeer it! > Anyhow, RG if set to be slave, listens to MMC commands, but doesn't respond > to all of them. > > In theory we could allow it to listen to MMC code 8. That's definitely a suggestion worth looking at. I'm swept up in a project just at the moment, but I'm using Rosegarden for the project, so I might actually do some active work around here in the next while. Encountering Rosegarden's many quirks and limitations first hand always has been an excellent source of motivation. The project, incidentally, is finally learning how to read standard notation on guitar. As a string player (violin? viola?) you could have told me that it's not THAT hard, but I would have obstinately refused to believe you until just recently. -- D.
