I'm getting closer. With the r13705 commit, I've fixed another issue with FileSource. It would crash on http/ftp transfer errors. Apparently, you can't call QNetworkReply::abort() when an error has occurred. This issue should directly affect Sonic Visualiser, Chris, so you'll probably want to bring in this change there as well. I'm going to finish this up by taking a closer look at the error handling to see if I can make ftp transfers behave like the others. Probably just a matter of mapping the QNetworkReply error codes to http status codes.
