OK, I updated to 13914.  Recompiled.  Following your recipe, I wagged back
and forth between large and small sizes about 20 times, and could not
crash it.  Finally in desperation I resized RG so it was just about on the
borderline between scrollbar and no scrollbar and wagged it back and forth
between those settings as fast as I could, maybe 50 to 70 times.  Still no
crash.

Repeated the procedure in a fresh session, still no crash.  Tried again -
no crash.  I couldn't reproduce this crash.  I have to suspect something's
different here.
