Rosegarden Developers:

Speaking of good work, I just got through testing Rosegarden an Lubuntu
15.04, on a 450 megahertz machine (minimum-system testing), and am very
impressed with the results.

In the test, I am playing a sequence (using Rosegarden), with Qsynth (a
software synthesizer). The sequence has many parts, and on slow
machines such as the 450 megahertz machine, JACK (qjackctl) will
occasionally report XRUN errors, and you will hear audio drop-outs.

In that test, there was not a single audio drop-out, or XRUN error
reported!

Rosegarden was reporting 100% CPU utilization, and indeed, it only
occasionally updated the visible position in the sequence, and all the
while, Qjackctl was reporting 77% Real-Time usage.

In spite of that, not a single audio drop-out during the entire 3 minute
test.

Rosegarden appears to be doing the important stuff (the audio
processing) at a higher priority than the visual updating of the screen,
which is as it should be.

Good work, all!

Sincerely,
Aere
