The short version is that the little note without the slash is appoggiatura, and that's the only kind of grace note we support. The other common kind, the one with the slash, is acciaccatura. There are probably other kinds too. Ornamentation is an extremely complex subject, and to understand it, you have to know what composer you're working with. It is all much too technical and too specialized for Rosegarden to handle in its entirety. -- D.
