This isn't really a RG question, but I can't get subscribed to the Linux
Audio list for some bizarre reason, and I figured surely someone here
has run into this problem.

I just recently installed Fedora 14 x86_64 (KDE) on a new laptop. I've
got the CCRMA repos enabled, and have everything working pretty much
with only one hitch.

The install put KMIX in as the default mixer, and it only gives me a
master volume for playback, and another for "capture." On my old FC 7
install, I had independent faders for each playback source and each
input source.

I figured it was KMIX, so I tried alsamixer AND gmixer, and they both
give the same results. There is only a master output and a master
input. I NEED independent faders, mainly because this laptop has a
built-in webcam mic, and it is 'hot' all the time apparently, and even
when I patch a source (i.e.-linuxsampler) directly to an RG audio input
in qjackctrl, the meters still read ambient noise being picked up by the
mic. I need a way to turn it down or off.

Also, connecting my external mixer via USB doesn't change anything. I
still have only 1 input and 1 output level control.

What am I missing here? Surely this isn't some "improvement" that
they've made somewhere between FC7 and 14?
